I have been asked 1000’s of times how drop shipping , and e-commerce are doing during this recession, and my opinions on this holiday season. I generally don’t like to make predictions , but with this one it was a no brainer. My prediction was that e-commerce would boom this year , and I was correct.
According to the New York Post their was over 900 million dollars worth of merchandise sold online on Cyber Monday alone, and I will personally guarantee you a large portion of that came from drop shipping.
One of the best things we have done as a company is to form relationships with our suppliers. They have been more than helpful to us, and our members so in return we have respect for all of them. I had the opportunity to speak with some of them today, and their sales were up 25% or more depending on the area.
They deserve it, and our members that have worked themselves to death the last few weeks preparing for this season deserves it too. Daily people ask us what type of “work” is involved in e-commerce, as their are still so many untrustworthy places that make this seem so easy. Well here’s a few of the things our members have been doing.
1. Checking stock with their drop shippers—– You can’t sell it if it’s sold out !
2. Price matching/comparing—–Everyone wants the best price !
3. Creating sales—— Well it is the holidays ! I think eBAY has sent me a spam email everyday about some sort of special ha ha.
4.Fine tuning their websites—–Adding new products, holiday images, sales, specials etc.
I could keep going but I think you get the picture !
Now none of this is (physically) hard work. Time consuming? Yes in the beginning it is, and challenging you have to have a real desire to be successful, and tired of searching for the next best thing. I don’t make promises, but I will say that if you really want this to work it will ! Another question I hear quite often is “how many hrs a day does this take” My answer is always been. ” That’s up to you with anything in life you will get back what you put in to this.” It will take a bit longer in the beginning as your getting used to everything, but once you do get used to everything a couple hrs a day should be plenty. Just remember Rome wasn’t built in a day !
